How has it gone?

Philippians 4:13: 'I can do everything through him who gives me strength.'

Hey everyone! How did your week go? How are each of you keeping up with your resolutions?

I have really been praying for everyone one of you! Does anyone have anything to share that has helped them stay on track this week? Any verses, songs, etc?

This week has been pretty good for me. I feel like I've used my time a lot more wisely. Or at least I'm getting better at doing so. When I'm making good use of my time, it really makes me more happy and joyful than when I'm sitting around wasting my day away. So, for me, the joy that comes with following these resolutions is a huge motivation!

Emily, I think the joy you feel is the pleasure of God as he sees you using his time wisely. Also, your post inspired me afresh to do hard things.
I'll confess I haven't done that well this week. I have not been faithful to prioritize and keep the goal of glorifying God and remembering whose time it is in mind. Please pray that I would not be so lazy!

Something that helped me and may help y'all is as I was reading this morning about how the man in the parable of the pearl went and sold all he had so that he could buy the pearl, I realized that that was an active thing - he had to go out and pursue buyers for his stuff - he wasn't forced into it. The same thing with us, we should be actively 'selling' temporary pleasures (i.e. sleeping in, dawdling, etc.) so that we can buy the pearl of the day. A lot of times we don't know what the pearl of the day is, but we still need to sell our temporary pleasures in the anticipation of that pearl.

Keeping pressing on!!

For me-

1. Going strong....
2. I've had an awesome week in regards to growing in my walk with the Lord. I've had several 'revelations', so to speak, about what I'm doing with my time and my priorities, etc. I've been learning to use my time more wisely, and overall I'm on the plus side in this resolution.
3. This has actually become a pretty difficult struggle for me (to invest more in friends), because I have become swamped with school and work. I hardly see my friends outside of church, so that is really one of the only opportunities I get to 'invest'. I'm still trying though.

Well, I've been doing well with prioritizing my time since I've needed to check things regarding UNCC and looking for a job.

Not so well with fellowship.

I've been reading a book for a book club I'm part of so that keeps me up with reading biblical books.

I'll continue to pray for all of us.
God Bless!

Mee, I know it's hard. If it was easy, we wouldn't have these resolutions. I am definitely still praying for you! Awesome point.

Mark, I can totally relate. Actually, I can't say that I've been doing quite so well with reading my Bible, but I feel the same about the other two. I really know what you mean about friends. I don't feel like I have time to get really deep with my friends. I pretty much only see everyone at church, and when I do, I always feel rushed. I need to put more of an effort to keeping up with friends during the week. Though, that will be hard, since I'm so busy.

Great Melly! I'll keep praying for you too about it!!

Lastly, I would really encourage some of you others who may have not replied to my org. post to join in. It's never too late and the support of friends is amazing!!

Love you all!
