Hi everyone! How was your week? What where the tough things for you? Where did you feel God's grace this week?

I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

This verse has been a great reminder to me this week. It reminds me that I'm weak and can't do a thing without God's help! My week, has been really good though. God has worked wonders in my discipline and trust in Him. So, I have really felt His grace there. But there is always the constant pull of what I want to do. But thankfully, God has helped me fight that!

Love you guys!

Wow. That's one of the verses I've been dwelling on this week!
I had been struggling with self-sufficiency and leaning on my own strength and thus was getting discouraged a lot. I knew in my head that I couldn't do anything without God's help but was not living out that truth. On Sunday, though God totally turned my heart around and this week has been awesome, not because I've been perfect, but because I've been so aware of his grace(it's everywhere!) throughout my week and I've been able to lean on him for strength - and I wouldn't even have been able to lean on him if he hadn't changed the posture of my heart!
We serve an awesome God - can I get an amen?

Amen! Can you share any insights on knowing when we are acting on our own strength and how to choose to act on God's?

I "Amen" that too, Mee.
This week has gone really well for me. I've been keeping up with my priorities well.
I've also experience an awesome time of fellowship with a few of my friends. We were at Panera's and talked about how our relationship with God was going. There were two couples at a table next to us, and after we started getting ready to head out, one of the ladies came up to us and shared how encouraged she was to hear us talking about God, and to see our Bibles on the table, and also seeing us praying for each other.
Needless to say, we were encouraged, too! So that was pretty cool.

Cara, I won't pretend to be an expert on the subject, but I think as far as knowing when you are leaning on him instead of yourself, you recognize that anything you just accomplished is because of him. It's one of those things that when you are, you know it. You'll feel a lot stronger and less discouraged, I can tell you that!
As for choosing to lean on him, it takes an act of humility to acknowledge that you can't do anything apart from him - he made you and sustains you every day and he is sovereign lord over all - when you really dwell on that, it kind of hits you "WHY ON EARTH WOULD I WANT TO LEAN ON MYSELF WHEN I COULD BE LEANING ON HIM?!?!?"

I found it extremely helpful to put scriptures on the topic up in my room where I'd see them everyday. Ones like 'I can do all things - - through CHRIST who STRENGTHENS me,' 'I lift my eyes up to the hills where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD,' and 'His power is made perfect in [my] weakness.'

Hope this is helpful, Cara!

Oh, and Mel, it's spelled 'm-e-e' - no caps. =)
